About the Recipe
These no-fuss, baked treats are like little cookies for your pup. The apple provides sweetness and fiber, while cinnamon can have anti-inflammatory properties. They have a satisfying crunch that dogs love.

Ingredients
1 ½ cups Old-Fashioned Rolled Oats
½ cup Unsweetened Applesauce
1 Egg
½ cup Finely Grated Apple (peeled and cored, about 1 small apple)
¼ teaspoon Ground Cinnamon (optional)
Preparation
Step 1: Preheat and Prepare
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2: Combine Ingredients
In a medium bowl, combine the rolled oats, applesauce, egg, grated apple, and cinnamon (if using). Mix until a thick, cohesive dough forms. If the mixture seems too wet, add a few more tablespoons of oats.
Step 3: Shape the Bites
Using a teaspoon or your hands, roll the dough into small, pea-sized balls for training treats, or into slightly larger, 1-inch balls for regular snacks. Place them on the prepared baking sheet. They won't spread much, so you can place them close together.
Step 4: Bake and Cool
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the bites are firm and golden brown. For a crunchier texture, you can turn off the oven and let them sit inside as it cools.Let the bites cool completely on the baking sheet before storing.
Pro-Tip:
For a smoother texture, you can pulse the rolled oats in a food processor or blender a few times to create a coarse oat flour before mixing.
Storage: Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
